The Government has drawn up changes to the planning system that will take away the right of local people and their elected councillors to comment and decide on planning applications in their area.
Right now residents have several opportunities to comment on planning proposals at different stages of the process and decisions are made by elected local councillors.
Ministers want to take decision-making powers away from local communities and local councils, and hand them over to developers and Whitehall officials.
Our democratic ability to shape the future of where we live could be lost with the stroke of a pen.
We must resist this, but we don't have long.
Whether you've already signed up to the campaign or aren't ready just yet, you can still help encourage other people to sign up.
