Simon Cockayne - Hill Ward

Simon CockayneHaving lived in Daventry for the past 5 years I have decided to stand for election to the District Council in order to improve local democracy - today's council is so overweight with one party that strange and unwise decisions are pushed through without proper consultation or scrutiny, the canal arm folly being a good example. I want to stand up to that. Liberal Democrats believe in locally devolved decision making by the local community on issues that affect them, bringing democracy closer to the people, where it belongs.

Originally from Cheshire, I have two teenage children and work in sales of technology solutions. My other interests include SCUBA diving, wildlife conservation and trying to improve at golf.
